Hello, I've just bought a 2004 V8 disco 2 (always wanted one) thinking I'd be able to tackle what I thought were a few problems..sorted the water leaks, wind noise, brake fluid but have had to resort to a garage for head gasket and ABS speed sensor (3 amigo's - showing).

Having quoted 8 hours for the head gasket (and started) they've now got the
LR speed sensor with long lead that needs wiring in and quoted another 4 hours - I've found the Wabco OEM replacement with short lead you plug in which I'm assuming will be simpler job but was wondering whether anybody has experience of this?

Cheers, Neil:(

Very fair point, most rude

I'm based west London / berks, as the kids have been getting bigger toys I thought I'd splash out on an older discovery to cart it round (that's my excuse anyway).

After 1 year of looking splashed out on what I thought was a good buy but now realise my diy mechanics aren't quite up to the task. Been browsing for a while and LZ is massively useful, still can't quite work out who pays the bills for it all but thanks and look to meeting some of you.

PS Any body know a good indepent LR garage in west london area?

its easier to buy sensor thast plugs in at inner wing connector ,but it may mean a wheel hub which comes with a new sensor as its often wheel bearing that shows fault with sensor air gap
