my beloved (car not wife) has started playing up , the abs - traction failure msg has started to flash up , sometimes staying on then it dissapears for a day or two, so i got our mot tester to do a diagnostic check and the following codes came up 26 part load fuel trim limit reached 22H34 undoc-code idle fuel trim 2 & 1 limit reached 31 rough road signal implausable 148 interface immobilzer, so he cleared the codes and suggested he checked it again , so does anyone have any ideas before i break the news to the wife that the car is going back into the garage( R R specialist) , more exspense she's going to be mad:ballchain::ballchain::ballchain:

Weak Battery.....

The P38 hates weak batteries and the first indications are the ABS & TC warnings.....

Measure the battery at rest - should be over 12.4 volts or so....

Also measure it with the enigne running at 2000rpm should be over 14.2V

Any deviation could indicate a weak battery or failing alternator.

I recently had similar issues with mine. When it dropped to -10c overnight it pretty much finished the battery off. I replaced it with a Alphaline 1000CCA 130AH unit from batterymegastores.co.uk, £99.95 plus free next day delivery. It has made so much difference, it is a whole new vehicle. Strikes first time every time. No more faults being logged after a cold night or been left standing for a few days. Really made a difference.

A chap I know with a Sport recently replaced his battery with something more meaty and it has made so much difference to his vehicle too. Highly recommend a battery with balls to any RR owner.

Get a new wife - the day my missis lays anything down on me car related she'll be part ex'ed before the hunk of ****, er I mean Solihull's finest, on the drive way. :)

Saint correct. Change the battery. Have the same problems on mine with a battery that is only nine months old, presently digging out the invoice (I never throw out any invoices, papers etc) as it has a years guarantee!!
Exactly same indications on mesage board.

I replaced my battery with a new one for a John Deere tractor and it transformed my vehicle, it even cured my hot start problem

I see you live by go big or go home. :p

I am paranoid of the starter crapping the bed soon though as it is under a lot of hard work.
