Ok by suppling the link between the two rear lamps u have confirmed that the 12v backwards supply travels as far as to where dash illuminating connects onto this circuit.
So somewhere under the dash there's a break between that point and the supply fuse for this circuit where the supply should originate... so best of luck in finding that one.

No problem with the front side light on the same side then?

bit of an update, for some reason one of the previous owners had fitted a blade fuse to one of the wires from the light relay and gidden it under the alarm sounder. It was rusty and baked in years of crud, easy fix so the front lights are now working.

The rear ligjt is goi g to need more investigation as i printed out the wiring diagram from autodata and the fog light are fed from the same wire and they are not working.

Getting there :D

I have a relay in a relay for my driving lamps in a similar position with a blade fuse, if your relay is for additional lamps it could be a standard position that a LR dealer uses to fit a relay for this purpose.

My relay picks up its supply from the engine bay fuse-box and the switching supply from the main high beam circuit at the rear of the o/s bulb all in a pre made loom..

Mine is the same as yours but the wires have been chopped and changed for some reason, ill get some pictures tomorrow.

The blade fuse you're talking about,do you mean the one in the fuse box or do you have another on?

Fixed the front light with a new water proof inline blade fuse, found the relay for the fog lights and tried it with a brand new relay and still no luck.
