Hi All,

Whilst replacing the fuel pressure sensor last year I asked for help from the misses, ( you can see where this is going), she managed to run over an engine cover whilst starting the car that "wasn't in gear honest"

Maybee I shouldn't have put it on the floor but I was always taught "put it on the floor, it cant fall off the floor"

Anyhow, I never got round to replacing the cover, mainly because I dont know the name for it, its the part in the pic with the yellow line round it.

Can anyone point me in the right direction to get a new one.....

Thanks in advance

Si

It's the 'later' or 'small' TD4 engine cover.

That's to distinguish it from the earlier, large 'acoustic' cover.

You can easily run without it as long as you put the screw back in the hole on the extreme left - otherwise oil will leak out.

Choice is dealer or scrapyard?

BMW call it the Acoustic Cover
Land Rover part no. LBH000130

Yikes! They are about 135 quid each :(

Expensive habits, your missus has.

Thats what I mean, searches are thowing up allsorts but not the exact piece I need, I've been browsing for about 6 months now and not found one yet...

mine was missing so i picked up the earlier acoustic cover for 20 quid from a scrappy and 3 quid in fixings from the dealers and all sorted. the acoustic cover is much bigger and covers from the intercooler hoses at the front to the air filter at the back, all looks much neater :)

According to Microcat the one outlined in your pic is p/no. LBH000130 the earlier larger one is LBH000010, would have thought this was easy item to source in a scrappy. :)

Any chance of piccy of the finished job with the acoustic cover in place?
