ok ,where do i start,advice plz,,freelander td4 05,,every time the standard maff plug is connected ,,getting no performance,black smoke,,changed the maff to a pierburg maff with a roverron tuning module ,and got the same results,due to the same results either way ,ive placed the standard bosch maff back in and disconnected the tuning module,ive disconnected the maff plug all together and the car is perfectly drivable,,but its obviously not right ,

Don't mind them . Same fools ,getting worked up coz you didn't go to the introduce yourself section,with a gay, hi from down the road.I have a problem with my freelander .You will be told by the same ffellas to go to the gaylander section .
Anyway .
Mine is an Lseries FL .It was down on performance ,engine light on and it was an intermitant problem .It turned out to be a knackered MAP sensor ,that does not mean thats your problem .If you do a search on the freelander section ,include some symptoms .The answer is here somewhere .
Its always worth consulting your haynes manual ,troubleshooting section .

Do say hi in the introduce yourself section, then run a search, unless the lack of power at 70 mph thread has answered your question. I've been here a few months, since the wife bought a Freebie, and it's an invaluable resource, saved us literally hundreds of pounds in mechanics hours and offered virtual support when I needed it, well worth following the site conventions
