HELP - Central locking/alarm problem

I have a 300TDI Disco '97. This morning came to drive it and the central locking won't work. Used the key and the alarm went off! Any tips? Can I isolate the alarm system in any way? Worked absolutely fine yesterday and for the last 12 months since I bought it.

you can use the key to reset the alarm.. look in your handbook..

I don't have the handbook - it didn't come with the car - any help appreciated - got to go to work tomorrow and can't get my car to work.

Resetting the alarm with the key is something I have missed in the handbook,so can't help u there.

Thats correct using the key while the alarm is set will set the alarm off. If the fob is not functioning the first thing to look at is the battery in the fob.
How did you reset the alarm and did you re-mobilise the engine ok, if you did then the fobs battery is ok.

Thankfully you can not isolate the alarm easily, but you can remove the alarm and imobiliser with a bit of work.
