Hi All,

Just wondered if anyone could shed any light on my potential problem. I know this is a landrover forum and I have posted on the corsa forum I am part of however most on there are interested in how big of an amp they can fit and I know all of you on here are much more technically minded.

On my way home tonight (lots of stop start traffic through manchester) my 1.2 2007 Corsa D felt like the steering was pretty light (although the road was slippy so could have been that) and when even lightly braking it made the scrapey/grinding sound as if the brakes were locking up. Also pulling away gently in first it felt like it was slipping/wheel spinning. Didnt feel like it was the clutch that was slipping as I could put my foot down a bit and it would still pull.

Tried applying the brakes a little harder to see if it was a braking issue and it seemed to lock up very easily and felt as if it were skidding.

Have jacked up both front wheels and had a good look around, span the wheels, gave them a good shake in either direction and it all felt very solid. Suspension coils felt solid as did the track rods etc.

I am going to go out in it later to a car park and see if I can replicate the issue and see if I can "feel" it a bit more. Popped by my mate who works at kwik-fit who said he can look in the morning if I need (I am fully aware how **** kwik fit are but my mate is the manager and always looks after me accordingly).

It does need two new back tyres which I may just get done anyway and see if they can look while at that. Any ideas guys?

Thanks

Matt

***NOTE*** I have posted this in "Anything goes" and have had a few replies, Trax suggested I post here too although I am aware it is not LR/RR related!***

Sounds like abs fault

I did think this although I have no stored error codes, no warning light and I have checked the tell tale is working. I have vauxcom which is a version of the vauxhall diagnostic and programming software which is telling me this.

What sort of state are the brake pads in? Sounds like the sort thing that might happen if they're getting very low. Or the discs are getting worn down below tolerance.
