Hi Everyone,

Just joined, bought a Landrover Discovery 1 300tdi 2 weeks ago, havn't seen much of it as my OH keeps nicking it to test it out on Salisbury Plains. We're just getting into off-roading and have a few people showing us what to do. Its still standard at the moment, but here's a little video I put together of us testing out the different things it can do! :)

I've still got a lot to learn, we are having a snorkel fitted next week & a full service, but not sure what other extra's we are going to need.

I'm hoping the 4x4 service guy will point bits out for us.

"fancy being a SLUT or a TOSSER, Nat?" Sorry you'll have to explain :eek:

Hi :welcome2: to the asylum :D

One mod you might want to consider is removing the side-steps before nature does it for you! ;)
Oh, as slow as possible, as fast as necessary; the guy in the Nissan might be interested in that one!
And personally, I would never drive around if one of my dogs was running loose

Consider getting some proper off-road driver training, cos with friends 'showing you the ropes' you don't know the quality of advice you're getting (coming downhill with your wheels steered off centre like that's a GREAT way to roll your motor!! ;) )

Thanks Dirty Gertie, until we have the funds I can't see us doing any serious mods to the Landy as I still need it for work at the moment (and i'm a short-arse, so need the steps LOL) :p. So its just for a bit of fun at the moment and if my OH really gets into it, then I guess we will have to get me a different car and use the Landy for pure off-roading.

Regarding the dogs, they were only off-lead when doing very slow maneuvers, obviously they go back in the car if we are going any faster :) (and again, that was the first time we had driven the Landy with the dogs out, so I will train them to stay away from the vehicles when we are taking pics)
