I am new to this, I have owned a td4 2001 for 6 months, so far no worries, however a new problem has arisen. the car cut out and AA rescued me told me to put deisel in it, i objected cos the tank read 1/4 full and i have ran it down to fuel light before this. However he towed me i put fuel in it and away it went. this happened another 3 times. and is still happening. Anyone had similar probs? if so any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
regards
jim.

Thanks for the reply, i have taken the unit out and had it tested, it is fine (thankfully they cost a fortune) and there is definitely fuel in the tank cos i can see it through the big hole where the sender and pump came out. Any other possibilities you know of ?

Fuel pump getting weak and unable to suck fuel up from the bottom of the tank?
Dunno much about Gaylanders - just a suggestion.

Thanks for the reply, I put it into garage, they replaced two hoses as it was smoking!!! the guy had a look at the fuel problem and told me he was stumped! he said he checked all pressures etc.. and all was fine. well £160.00 later i set off from garage broke down again 2 miles up road. put 10 litres in to bring it up past half a tank and away it goes. I got home and took out pump in tank. all looks fine, something made me run 12v across terminals of pump and it was dead!!! so the guy at the garage was a lying toad! I belted the motor with a screwdriver handle and away it went, so a new one will be ordered. what has been happening was the lift pump in engine bay has been sucking all way from tank and once it gets lower than half a tank it was not able to pump enough fuel to keep it running.

just need to sort binding rear brakes now!!!
