Hi all
I have been having a look through the site and am impressed enough to join, I live in South Essex near Lakeside. and am in my late 30's

I would love some advise please I am sure this has been asked many times on here so ask that you please bear with me as a newbie! I am in the process of changing motors and have always wanted a Land Rover/Range Rover, My wife wouldnt let me have something newer as our main car so basically im looking for a good workhorse as a second car, i am doing up my house so do lots of DIY and dump runs etc..

What am i looing for? well I dont really want to spend more than £2500-£3000 if i can help it, i wont be doing long runs but will be using it daily to get to the station and a weekends for the above mentioned shifting of stuff! I would like a bit of luxury and the big engines dont put me off, Diesel, petrol, manual or auto I have no preference. mileage isnt an issue as long as the car has a good history.

But im really not sure what would be the best bet, a Range Rover or a Disco? whats are the pros and cons? there are a hell of a lot of Range Rovers and Land Rover Disco's in the classifieds and on eBay from 95-98 in this price range most have done around 100K which i dont have a problem with, what i am scared of is buying a dog so would like to know which models to avoid where to look for things that go wrong or rust etc?

Thanks

Both rust.
Get a disco 200 tdi or 300 tdi.

Discos are depreciating in value.
Classic rangerovers are increasing in value.

alright mate get a disco v8 cos they are going cheaper than the dezuls.if its gonna be a workhorse and you aint bothered bout milage.Still rust is an issue.Once yer finnished yer can coming laning round brentwood with us
