  :( got me a 95 3.9 with no fire. changed the usual with ni progress. spoke to british pacific who said it the ignition switch, had it rebuit by an electical expert, no progress. any suggestions greatly apreiated.

Try the coil, mate. Have you tried disconnecting the king-lead at the distributor end, holding it near the block and checking for a spark when you crank it over? I asume you`ve checked electrical feeds to coil etc.

I have checked for spark at the king verry verry verry lite orange spark, I'm brand new to the land rover world, love it but starting to hate it.

fook knows usually any coil will do for test purposes. I suppose any 3.5 or 4.0 v8 coil will do. a buick is probably closest. Might be worth posting this on a US site.

No finest example of british automotive engineering you'll ever find. Don't believe that crap about em leaking oil either. It's a nasty false rumour put about by Landrovers opposition

yes, mate. Can`t remember off the top of my head what my V8 had, but I seem to think there`s an amplifier on the side of the distributor (I`m sure the guys will correct me if I`m wrong!) and if there`s corrosion anywhere on the earths / grounds it`ll affect the spark. Always worth checking engine to chassis ground as well.

the only earths I've noticed are the the one going to the coil, and the bolt holding the amplifier bracket in place

the amplifier has been moved to the left front next to the radiator, doesn't leak anything even at 140,000 and very pleased with it performance on the country
