Good evening everyone. I am new to the forum so please accept my apologies if this question has been asked 1000 times before but....
I have recently acquired a 1998 4.6HSE and driving it home got cold feet....not about the buy but the heater seems to operate only on full. As soon as I turn it down below full, it blows cold, with no difference between 28 degrees and 21 degrees. I have not checked the passenger side yet. The direction control seems to work fine. Also the fan does not turn off so I get a cold draught whatever the direction chosen.
I also have the book symbol so something will ned replacing.. but what!
Thank you in advance for any suggestions!

Blend motors or HEVAC unit......do a search on the forum, zillions of posts on it. Fiddly fix to do yourself if its the blends, HEVAC head unit is pricey. Ideally you need to have Rovacom or Faultmate or Autologic plugged in to diagnose the problem first, as both the problems above are quite expensive.

Great
Thanks for the info. I will take it down to a RR specialist to test tomorrow. I thought it could be the motors but was not sure. I sat in a few minutes ago and the direction control is iffy as well - it blows solely to the windscren when asked but then on every other setting blows to the floor as well as where asked. A little bit of water comes out on the drivers side floor vent but I am pretty sure it is just residue from sitting idel for a number of months (I hope).
Anyway, I appreciate your time... Thank you
