hi i am new to this can somebody help or point me to the write thread,on my 1997 40ltr se auto the heater is blowing warm on the dash vents and cold in the footwell the 2 rubber hoses going into the heater are realy hot the engine is not overheating at all any help will be great thanks :)

It's a permanent flow system with the air distribution controlled by internal flaps. The flaps are driven by motors. You need to be searching for 'blend motors'.

hi i have had a look and tried heater again i dont seem to have a problem with the flow to either top or bottom vents it is just that i have warm air to the facsia vents and cold to the floor is this a issue with the temperature control thanks

Still the blend motors I think.

Do you have a book symbol on the HEAVC screen? That would indicate the system has detected a fault. If you put where you are in your profile someone nearby may have diagnostic kit that'll be able to read any fault codes for you to save all this guesswork.

Blend motors control the blend of heated and cooled air, and where it goes. If hot or cold air is not going where you want it to it's probably the blend motors. Getting it on diagnostics will help.
