Shouldn't I take it off then?

I don't understand in the first place why it would be shorting due to water though as it has been parked for months...
But the bit on the ir intake where the water drains, was clogged up...but would take a load of water for it to raise and get in the blower...

Ok could understand there's water in there now after pouring water in this morning, but the fuse was blowing before that...

does it have to come out ? - can't you just find it's wiring and break into it at a convenient location

like at the fusebox ?

I can see wires coming out the back of it, just between the bulkhead and wing, roughly just in the area roughly behind where the water is sitting, but are these the only wires to it?

If they are then I could just run a live feed from the battery to it, actually buckshot suggested that earlier today when I was on the phone with him

wish he'd told you that before he told you to give it a hot bath

a think green/yellow and green/slate is motor feeds but check that first as they used to use slightly differing colors for diesel/petrol circa pre 85 ish

dunno if these wires help...

Buster! I think that's exactly what I have in the back of mine, too dark now to check, but I'm almost sure it's that as I could feel the wires coming from the back and then to the top

If it's like that where on that plug do I need to connect the live?

If its shorting to ground - a new live wont help - but make sure theye is a fuse in it.

Off the top of me head mate,ah can't honestly say without tryin' tae find me manuals that are in the garage somewhere's:eek:
Might be an idea to check yer cables fur cracks or sticka tester on tae try and trace the fault

Just remembered something but not sure if I'm thinking it right...

Let's assume that it's shorting at the blower right?
So if I disconnect that plug that comes off the blower, put a new fuse and pun the heater fan lever down, then the fuse shouldn't blow right?

But if it's shorting somewhere else other than on the blower unit, then the fuse will blow

Is this right?

Yes :D

Cool...
I think that's where I'll start tomorrow...

If it doesn't blow the fuse, then I'm taking the heater box out and drain in and see what happens

If it does blow....fok knows...maybe trace the wiring back to the switch and see if anything is wrong...?

Could also be the switch, but not sure how to test that.
The switch has a brown wire, connected to the lever and then 2 green wires at the bottom of it, where the 2 clicks are

If I run a wire directly from the brown wire to one of the green wires then I suppose I'm bypassing any possible problem that the switch might have?
