Our son complained about his heater fan sqealing when hot, so I got him to pull it out this morning so we could look at it.

The fan is pushed onto the shaft with a small latch and a clip to hold it in place. Take the clip off and while applying firm pressure from between the fan and the fixing flange, just lift the little catch and the fan will come off.

If you remove the two screws at the other end of the motor, the motor will come out out of the main housing if the fan is tight on the shaft. The shaft isn't too tight, and a bit of WD-40 helps.

The connections to the supply plug slide out from behind, two brass tags.

Once out, you can introduce oil to the bearings while keeping it away from the brushes and commutator.

Once done, just reassemble carefully.

Took half an hour.
