Heater blower not here yet and I need to drive! Options!?!?

Morning....

Well, as some of you know the heater blower in the 90 packed in so i took the heater box out...

all fine with that...
thing is, the new heater blower motor and assembly hasnt arrived yet!

and there's heavy snow forecasted for tomorrow...

I need to drive it today as Im going over to a mates and dont want to get stuck there tomorrow as I have to be back home for lunch time...

thing is... the heater box is not there, meaning the heater matrix aint there either....

can I just (somehow) connect the water pipes to eachother? or do they need to go through the heater matrix?

I didnt really want to fit everything back in place only to take it all out when the heater blower arrives, as to fit it the heater box has to be out...

Any ideas/sugestions on what I can do here...?

still hope it will arrive this morning...but I doubt

Yes you can just re-route the pipes without the matrix..i drove 4 months like that til i started getting chilly and put the new matrix in..

Yes you can no problem Common on Fords for the heater matrix pipes to snap off this time oyear at the bulkhead and you can just link them with some copper pipe/ 2 90 degree bends

I concur When i got to the stage of 2 quilts at minus 10 i thought 'about time you fixed that you lazy bastid'...

I dont mind!
I rather be cold than stuck somewhere in the C5 estate.....

I'll just wear my bike gear... if I dont get cold in -4, plus wind chill factor from being on the bike..... it should be nice and toasty in the 90

I think I'll give it till lunch time to wait for the motor to arrive, if it doesnt by then, then I'll connect both pipes together and blank the intake in the bulkhead....dont want any cold wind coming through there..

I found that a bit of carefully bent copper pipe joining the inlet/oulet rubber hoses was fine..but check it after a short run cos the little jubilee clips i used needed tightening up once the pipe got warm..it was leaking a bit.

Just a quick one, does it have to be copper pipe?
dont have any in the garage, but might have just steel pipe... and some rubber hoses..

its only to do a total of about 40 miles...

the 55 series we had when i was a kid had a canvas top and no heater. you young uns dont know how pampered you are

ho well... couldnt find any pipe in the garage that would do the job, ended up fitting the whole thing back in place.... took me 10min..

must be lucky the way mine is, considering how everyone says its a pain to get out and put back in

Coat. And hat.

Just stick a bit of 1/2" hose between the two connections to your engine.

My series 2 is like that cos I've not got a heater - one coming for Christmas though,, but I don't know how good it'll be.
