Let me first say this - I changed my headlights to the facelift Disco 2 not for looks but because the light output from my 300 tdi lights where crap, so I am not trying to make it look like something it isn't - just before I start to get all those types of comments......;)

I am aware that there is a problem with the facelift headlights condensing, and this isn't helped by dipping them water (like at the Salisbury plains at the weekend :D), so I am looking at another alternative to fit in their place.

I prefer xenon lights, and I know there are plenty of arguments about people that fit HID's and I don't want to start anymore but I am responsible, and fitted internal projector lenses to get the correct beam pattern, and had them all checked out etc etc...so ideally would like some projector lense type lights that will easily convert.

I think the L322 Range Rover headlights are pretty flat and would fit with a bit of work, but they too are expensive, like the D3 lights, whereas the RRS headlights are cheap but too much of a curve to make them fit....so can anyone else think of some 'flat'ish large'ish headlights from any other makes that I could make them work on the front end?

Might seem pointless to other people, but hey ho, I like to play around with lights, what can I say.....

Volvo 760 would have been ideal , they give plenty of light , are a three compartment unit that have side and main , high and built in foglights ....but they are just a little too wide . Maybe there is some other large high saloon of that sort of era that has flat multi units ....sorry mate , best I could do .

nice line of thought - never crossed my mind to look at the old volvo type cars..

I quite like this sort of look...

From the Chevy Trailblazer, but again, an expensive option at about £270ish delivered from the US....and then having to make up new shutters for the projectors to get them right hand drive....

could get the halogen type ones, and whack in some projector lenses which would get the right beam pattern - anyone going out to the states???

If you can drive at night without highbeam it's nothing to do with how bright they are it's because they're set too high!:doh:

I have to say I am delighted with the lights on my Disco 300tdi. They light up loads of the road and I am forever playing with the motorised thing that moves them up and down.....now it will go an bloody break!
