I went to change the headlight bulb on my freelander for the first time but I noticed that the cap/cover on the passenger side is missing. Does anybody know where I could get one or does anybody have one from a broken headlight I could buy. They seem to be very hard to get.

You need to know what year the FL1 is, as the covers are different between pre-facelift and post-facelift headlights.

That is interesting, I'm thinking on fitting H4 LED headlights to my pre-facelift hippo, but the kit would require me to discard the cover. Are you getting any misting or condensation inside your lenses?

Let us know how that goes. I'm sure you'll find the beam pattern all wrong with LEDs though.

For the SH17s and giggles of it I'll go to the workshop tonight and plug them in and let you know how they perform.... I had them originally for my slow burning RRC project, and I keep toying with the idea of plonking them in other motors just now like her D1-300tdi and now the hippo.

Hi yes sorry it is a 2004 facelift.

I am getting a bit of misting inside the headlight but only on very cold mornings.

Having had a rake about I haven't got the foggiest idea where in the workshop I put the LED lights, and I've got a streaming cold so really not in the mood to faff about looking for them tonight, will dose up on lemsip tomorrow and have a better look.
