You know what? I knew that. Just forgot

Did you check under the centre console to make sure all the connectors are on?
It's easy to check.
You should check the connection to the HDC switch and apparently there's a switch for 1st and reverse gears, but I don't know where those are!

I don't think your problem is an ABS sensor or pump, otherwise the ABS light would show a fault shirley?

Whereabouts are you based?

[edit]
Forgot to ask - have you had an OBD check? Apparently that can pick up if there is a fault with an ABS pump, so maybe other stuff in that area as well.

im based in Scarborough

i had alook under my centre console but there wasnt a box or connector that i saw ( only removed the back screws as the front ones were rounded off and didnt wnt to snap the trim)

And have you plugged in an OBDii meter to check for fault codes?

Garages can do this but they sometimes charge. Mine doesn't but I didn't want to bother them too much so I bought a cheap one.

Maybe ask these guys to try a meter on it?

hi all i am new to the world of landrovers i have a freelander 1 on a 51 plate when i drive over 40 mph the hdc come on (amber) is this a major problem i have my own diagnostic kit and the fault codes are
c1148
c1149
c1150
c1151
some of these relate to abs and speed sensors can they be removed and cleaned

cheers for any help roger

What model year is the car and is it Teves Mk20 or 25 ABS system?

If it's a Mk20 (2001MY only) then all the codes relate to missing CAN message from engine, gearbox and instrument pack
