did you change the brake switch for the uprated version with the loom?

if not order one and it will remedy the problem.

is this under the center console/ handbrake trim

i thought you meant a thing on the accelerator pedal

also my abs light isn't on

Yes it's near the handbrake. Sometimes they get knocked loose if you take the centre console off.

Does the ABS light come on at all?
It's meant to come on at first and only go out when the car reaches about 5 mph.

my abs light comes on when the ignition is started then goes out a few seconds later

I assume that's when you start moving?
If so looks like the sensors are ok.
If not that's just weird - maybe ECU is knackered? No idea.

The sensor generates a voltage when the reluctor ring on the drive shaft spins. This is picked up by the ECU. If it goes wrong you get a "voltage out of range" or something like that which makes the light come on. Not sure how the sensor could send a voltage if the car isn't moving though...

Most likely it is the brake switch though, as others have said.
The new type switches usually come with a small adapter loom for the old connectors.
Some models have 2 switches but I think yours will have 1.

my abs light goes out maybe 2 seconds after the ignition is turned on moving or not

I just read the manual:

"The warning light should illuminate for a short period as a bulb and system check when the starter switch is turned to position 'II' and then extinguish (the light may flash during this period)."

So it looks ok!
Not what happens in my car though.

Do your brake lights work?
