Aye Up All,

I’ve just replaced a hazard warning light switch on the D1(the cap kept flying off when the switch was pressed) and I discovered that the tiny filament bulb inside both switches have given up the ghost.

A quick trawl on LZ identified the part nos for me - STC 1205 clear - 1877 orange - 1878 green.

A search on the net revealed that the orange/green are reasonably priced but the clear - £9!

Another quick trawl on LZ identified a lot of discussion about LED replacements but I cannot see one specific to the hazard switch.

I can see scope for the physical mod to a small LED and wondered if anyone had already done it - which voltage LED/resistor combination - OR are there any issues that I might be missing, i.e. flasher relay problems, although as the LED will only be supplementary to the system I suspect that it shouldn’t adversely affect things? (apart from polarity and originality).

Regards.

Aye Up Discool,

Thanks for the reply.

Ive already bought a switch from Ebabe - it is the replacement that I mentioned in the OP - duff bulb despite “all in working order” claim!

I will have a look at those T3s.

Thanks

Hmm, interesting Sierrafery/Discool

I’ve just had a look at the LEDs and the filament type. They are both relatively cheap so I think that I will order a slack handful of each and do a bit of fettlin’ (no ‘g’ ! Lol).

I haven’t had the ‘pleasure’ of replacing any of the other dashboard lights yet but I’ve come across a few posts relating to that so it might be wise to think forward and have some options at the ready.

Regards
