ive had my hawkeye diagnostic tool for a few months ive unlocked it for disco 1 and 2 and with the help of member glanforbes and parts from simtek connectors ive made an adaptor for the security on disco1 but i need help with how to make a grey adaptor and a 14cux cable so i am after wiring diagrams.
i bought the update cable to see how the computer talks to the hawkeye and basically after speaking to tech guys from bearmach you have to use xp only and even then it does not find it.
each code is individual for each tool but with the right software if its out there you could find the hidden code,if you could actually talk to you hawkeye.
there is no licence number etc written on the back of the tool so does this mean you can legally hack your own diagnostic tool????
many thanks and i hope to exchange ideas on this to make this machine cheaper as each connector is about £63-£85 each but to make yourself about a tenner.

The unlock code is referenced to your hawkeye's serial number. Hence my Freelander 1 unlock code won't work on any other hawkeye.

a thousand apologys for spam as you call it
as for unlock codes yes i know they are made only for each tool but there is only afew things they change in each code, its a like 2 letters and 2 numbers ish off top of my head but i was mainly after wiring diagram of the green, red and black adaptors and the 14cux cable

well just to let all you hawkeye owners know that you can save a few pounds if needed ive made my own adaptor up for the security and abs airbag side for the disco 1 and seeing as the grey and green adaptors are retailing at about £63 each a few pence saved.
It seems there is a bit of a monopoly going on with the hawkeye extras etc at the mo as the prices are quite high and they are all in the same region considering how much they get them for to buy them in including 20% vat the prices are:-
ba5072 the 14cux lead = £45.54p
ba5073 air suspension cable =£41.94p
ba5077 grey adaptor abs =£31.86p
ba5078 red adaptor =£27.36p
ba5080 black adaptor =£31.92p
unlock code is £165.24p
even when shopping around these are not cheap and if you own a few vehicles or there are a few of you it ends up as an expensive machine

The unlock codes will more likely be generated form either an algorithm based on the serial number of the unit, or a secondary number linked to the unit serial number which is preloaded, and something you won’t know of. Considering the amount of time it must take to create the software, and fully test it, you’d expect them to put more than 3 minutes effort into security. My hawkeys serial number is 5 digits long. The Freelander 1 unlocking code supplied is 25 characters long.

very true but each code is the same except for 2 numbers and 2 letters everything else in each code is the same, the hawkeye has access via pins inside for cables to be placed for computer to talk to it as you rightly have said there that cleaver at omitec you cannot even talk to the machine via an update cable as it only streams in one way in this leaving only one course to try the pins inside so if there is a computer wizz kid out there who has tried let me know lol,but its not just the codes as they also have bmw, mini and rover applications on there from omitec so there has to be a way to use these as well.
im also trying to think of ways of saving from buy the adaptors to making your own for pence compared to lots of pounds,i made my own green and grey adaptor and just looking to see if anyone else has done it to save a few quid

Were you off sick the day they did capital letters, commas and full stops in your school?

So the way forward would be to collect as many serial numbers and unlocking codes as possible, and pass them to the phooter geeks at work, to solve the riddle. ;)
