Have I washed my bores ?

Was at devils pit this weekend, entered a little "puddle" harder than usual then the bitch conked out.
Bit of WD and then away we go, but then it conked out again when I hit another "puddle". Strange this as I went through a "mini lake" that was up to my wheel arches (thats where I usually let it lie) and it did ok.
I'm guessing that the general useage of the car throughout the day didnt do my any favours when I came stuck.

Eventually managed to limp it home on however many cylinders it was actualy running on, cleaned her all up today and gave a thorough clean to the dizzy cap and leads. Now it wont start at all !
I have spark from the dizzy cap, it seems quite prominant but going to get another rotor arm, dizzy cap & leads in a few days anyway as the ones on there have been there a while and arent in the best of conditions.

Although ...

There is a fuel smell, and I have noticed that its comming through a crack in the hose which goes from the brake master cylinder to the plenum chamber (vaccum pipe).
Its not running down my fuel lines (as they are also quite near) onto the offending hose as i've double cleaked that, you can actually see it seeping out of this hole. I will replace the hose shortly but as its comming out of there, is it possible that i've flodded it quite badly and washed my cylinder bores ?

I'm thinking removing this hose, all the spark plugs (bar 2 as its a Janspeed 3.5 V8 turbo and x2 of the spark plugs, you have to take the turbo off to get at, the other 2 on that side isnt exactly easy either) and turning it over to throw the unburn't fuel out, let it evaporate for a bit then put it back together again and hoping for the best.

ooooooo....never seen a turbo 3.5.......does it go very well normally?

Definatley get the plugs out to see what they're like, and leave them out for a while..take out the fuel pump relay and if the batteries good crank it a little.......

Mazza where abouts are you located? loads of us in or aroud Luton

are we talking about servo vac feed ,washing bores as you say will only cause problems over period of time as piston rings wont be lubricated properly it will evaporate on its own ,your obviously getting fuel but is cold strat injector doing over time ,i would check lead to spark plug connections

I,ve checked and re checked my ht leads,firing order etc only thing I need to do is get those plugs out,gotta fettle around the turbo and disconnect the intercooler/plenum pipe to get to those the other side.
Im gonna remove the fuel pipe as it's quite easy to get too and collect it,then i crank it over,then I'll put it back again.

I have also seen that web page about the twin turbo janspeed would have been nice to see some of the pictures.
The turbo doesnt work all that well as their is a big leak near where the turbo sits on a pipe on the manifold. I have considered removing the turbo and it's bits, getting s standard 3.5 manifold and away I go but as it is rare and I do have intention of putting the engine n bite in a buggy in a few years. Defo a d.i.y job I'd that one.

P.s that picture is quite old havnt got a more recent "clean" one

I'm in process of removing the turbo coz it's annoying Ive finally managed to change the leads, n plugs as the turbo is too close to the plenum !! New rotor arm and blue cap. I'm gonna find myself a new ignition amp now I'll do that tomorrow as it's me day off.

Just need to a gun and time it up and a few more fettles and tweaks and it will be good to go.

It will now be the Janspeed Turbo V8 without the turbo
