Any ideas as to what's going on with GLASS and Wayfinder. There appears to have been a monumental falling out and Wayfinder now appears on two sites - both of which claim to be to main one.

www.wayfinderproject.co.uk is the new one controlled by the Wayfinder Management Team - under GLASS control.

http://www.way-finder.co.uk/ seems to be the original one.

Is this just another example of GLASS incompetence?

I have been a member for just a few months and quite frankly all they seem to do is talk, bicker, stall, avoid conflict of any sort and generally achieve nothing. It also seems to be run "behind closed doors" so no-one has a clue as to what is really happening - which probably still amounts to not much.

Any views?

I really don't know the issues in the background, but I do see that some people like to wash their dirty laundry in public causing discredit to all parties concerned.

Seems that Wayfinder is in a love triangle between GLASS and CRAG. Ownership of data is a contentious issue - I for one am really peed off and want my data removed from the green way-finder.

UPDATE - from CRAG or 'original' Wayfinder.

FAQ 50 : I am confused by recent Wayfinder events!
The last few months have been a turbulent time for Wayfinder and this has had an effect on many users. Wayfinder would like to firstly appologise for the stress and inconvienience that this has caused but, furthermore offer some explanations about recent events.

All of the recent issues have been caused by a fundemental misunderstanding that has taken place on the part of The Green Lane Association - GLASS ( see http://www.glass-uk.org/ ). When the plan for creating Wayfinder was first envisaged, GLASS was offered free access for all its members which was initially declined but later accepted. However GLASS over time made a presumption that they owned Wayfinder which has never been the case.

Once GLASS' lack of ownership had been challenged a few individuals took offence and decided to set up a clone site. However this clone site is operating outside of the permission of Wayfinder and is contrary to the copyright and interlectual property rights that exist for Wayfinder.

In short there is only one official Wayfinder - the one you are looking at presently. If you have any doubts about this please see the information on Ian Boddison's website (the author of Wayfinder):

If this is the case (and it's only one side of the story) then it's pretty poor form from GLASS is it not?

Today the GLASS version of Wayfinder has sent me new login details including a new reset password.

No explanation, no covering note.

What's going on?????

This message is now appearing on the GLASS version.

Wayfinder
As at 9am on 12 May 2006, Wayfinder is being hacked by persons unknown. The admin team is currently attempting to prevent this. If you have received an Email that your account has been reset or terminated, please ignore it and try to login again in 24 hours time

This whole CRAG / GLASS thing is really getting on my wick. I don't give a flying **** what the issue is between the parties involved - but you know who you are and you've lost me.

Get the message - I don't care any more, I've disengaged and I'm not the only one.

I don't want to know what your issues are, I don't want to get involved and you should all go and sort yourselves out behind closed doors.

Right (I'll tread a little carefully here ;) ).

I think that just when the NERC bill has been passed, this is not the time for petty falling out. In fact I don't care if your from LARA, GLASS, TRA or CRAG. At this point we should not be bickering, talk about divide and fall:(

Remember all these organisations rely on volounteers to carry out needed duties, this makes for delays.

For all those glass members on here or elsewhere who are not happy with how things are run, there is several things you can do:

1.
Resign your membership, stupid as these organisations NEED support, who else do we have.

2.
Instead of withdrawing, get involved! Just a few hours a month might help make your region better. If you not happy SAY SO! Complain, it's your assoiciation for crying out loud:rolleyes:

3.
Go to the AGM it is very soon and at Gaydon, if you see policy you don't like, change it!

I can see most members of GLASS on the Titanic, quietly complaining to themselves about the food while the ship sinks
