300tdi
145882 miles on the clock
MOT until November 10th
Loaction: East Cornwall
£3000 ONO (willing to drop price to avoid going through eBay)
Chassis is pretty solid, needs a clean and waxoil
Gears work fine (R380 gearbox)
Low ratio works, diff lock is untested. The light doesn't come on but it's possible that the bulb on the panel has gone. A lot of the bulbs were blown when I got the car last year but I've replaced all the important ones :D ).
A big crack in the windscreen
Doors are pretty dodgy. They work and lock, but could do with replacing.
Safari snorkel
Starts first time in all weathers with no nasty smoke
Cloth seats are a bit grubby but are fine with the seat covers
The roof lining had gone mouldy so I pulled it out - You can see the glue where it was held in place. I have military panels but haven't got round to riveting them all in place.
Goodyear Wrangler AT/R tyres 235/85R16 with loads of tread. A couple of rims were painted cream and then black again and the paint is cracking and showing the cream up
Dashboard needs securing down properly, a lot of the fixings are broken
The aftermarket immobiliser has been removed as it was causing problems
There is an earth connection that causes the electrics to flicker occasionally when the headlights are on - this should just need cleaning up
Windows fitted to the sides
Recent work:
Starter motor
Clutch assembly has been redone
High/low ratio transfer rod and clevis replaced
Welding to rear of the chassis
Hazard light switch fixed
New wheels, tyres and balances
The last MOT had three advisories; broken windscreen, tyre perishing and tyre tread. The tyres are new but the windscreen needs to be replaced.

Selling because I need a more "family friendly car" ... I bought a Disco, the best compromise. Can't drive anything that doesn't have the green badge.

If I had space to keep this Defender, I would. Its fun to drive and works amazingly well, it just needs some cosmetic attention. It would be an amazing workhorse for somebody. If you have any questions or want to come and have a look just message me, I'm unemployed until 26th October so I'll be around all day everyday.
