I've got a problem... after night i can start my D2 only if i fully push gas pedal and crank it about 10 secs... if i try to crank simply without gas it might take up to 20-30 secs to crank.

The reasons i think are:

1)air in fuel system? but i have allready replaced both injector seals
2) I know that after i shut off car, immidatly pressure goes down till 0. in few seconds. I allready have replaced fuel pressure regulator. whats next? pump?

it will be the air bleed valve in the fuel filter hosing, its inside the front left pipe if you was sitting at the back wheel. Costs about £11 from land rover. Easy change 15 mins top just need a 19mm spanner and something to catch deisel in.

I always use original washers... so them are not a problem i think.

But where can i find that valve? there are 2 tubes from fuel filter that are in the front part of filter... which one of them?

The one which is going to 9

Sounds like the dreaded leaky injector washers to me - you've done them once, you will do them twice, maybe a third time until you get it right.

There is an art to getting them to seal, involves a few tricks. Do a search on here or google, there is a guide to fitting them and getting them to seal and STAY sealed.

have you got a non genuine fuel filter i know of faults like this to be caused from a non genuine filter as it airrates the fuel

yesterday removed that valve from fuel filter... cleaned it.... and put it back. Today engine started nearly from 1 turn... i was really surprized...

Thats what i thought how can this little valve cause the problem, it sthe oring that perishes and needs tobe repalced, not necessarily just a clean.

whats the tricks then?

well i cleaned that valve.. and it helped for few days.. .after it happened again.

Protei - just a thought. My problem wasn't the same as your's, but similar at times. Check the wiring for the CKP sensor plug (look at it closely.) I found mine to be full of oil from the injector harness, but later on when the problem still persisted, I found that the wires had become brittle with the heat and some of the insulation had cracked, this was allowing an intermittant short circuit which would kill my engine. The vibration of you turning the starter is maybe, just maybe, separating the short circuit allowing your engine to start.

Guys, My D2 has just started doing the same thing today, it fires up after cranking for about 10 seconds. Can someone please summarise, what should I do first, start checking the fuel filter or replacing injector washers? Thanks for the help..

Okey back again. So far changed fuel pump, pressure regulator. But problem still here. Glow plugs working.

I think air getting in a system. But only after night. I put gauge to check fuel pressure. When i set ignition on, fuel pressure gets to 4 bars, after pump shuts off after few secs pressure drops to zero. Is that correct?

There is an "air bleed valve" within the filter body ...cheap and easyt o replace, worth a try....this one could make u the trick...see it here The D2 Boys Club. - View topic - Air bleed valve purge the system after u replace it
