hard fault v's soft fault

Hi just wondering what defines a hard fault or vice versa a soft fault.
My Air suspension inactive message is permanently showing on the dash now!!

What model RR have you got?
For the P38 it goes as follows:
A soft fault is just an EAS fault message which stops you selecting height changes without the slow 35max message. Things like height out of range and compressor temp often trigger soft faults. thes are then not present when the car is started later.
A 'hard' fault is when it drops the car to the bumpstops. Things like a valve stuck or pressure switch fault which need to be cleared by diagnostics
Soft faults often disappear after you cycle the the ignition, a hard fault can only be cleared using diagnostics.
Not sure about L322

You're driving an L322 so whatever you do don't sell to these chancers above:p

I'm only half the chancer they are:D

as regards your query, I'm afraid I've not had the pleasure of the company of an L322 so I can't help a whole pile except that I'd imagine they fault out along the same lines. As the L322's are only just coming into the hands of the tinkerers on this forum almost all discussions on Hard and soft faults are among the P38 sufferers support group!!
 
Well thanks for the advice and the humour both of which are in great need at the moment.
Does anyone know who might on here be able to help with regards to an L322 problem as I'm pretty screwed at the moment???!!!!
 
could be just the sensor or compressor worn out. get down to an indie or dealer and get a fault read (c.60-90 quid). Mine was set to the wrong environment temp. Then my compressor wasn't pumping enough. I replaced it myself with a 2nd hand one and it is perfect now :)

I'm in Oldham. She's being a bitch and the guy just seems to be drawing dead ends that are starting to mount up in the money department and I can't afford to be spending stupid money!!!
Got a quote for £1000.00 for 1 headlight unit...is that right or am I having my arsed spanked???!!
