Disco 2 Handbrake kaput

Hi all,

Me again,

Handbrake does Nothing. Moved the car parked up and handbrake just came straight up. I would assume that the cable has snapped as it was a sudden thing rather than over time getting worse. Any ideas where to check first? I've had a look and the cable at the handbrake end and just seems that to much cable has come through

Hi, Yes it does sound as if the cable has broken or come detatched at the shoes. Do a search for the LR workshop manual RAVE and it will show you what's involved. Basically you need to remove the handbrake drum to investigate further.
