The Freelander gainsayers are in the main those who have never sat in one going seriously off-road.

Because they are comfortable, easy to park, and dare I say it - fast, when properly 'sorted' - all sorts of 'ordinary' people buy them - hairdressers included, I dare say.

To run a Defender or similar as an 'everyday drive' requires a special type of what many folks would regard as a 'masochist'.

I too have helped incredulous series owners who are shocked by the lack of drama - no extra bells, whistles, low-ratio kit etc. I can pull a 'real' LandRover out of a ditch with ease - and that comes as a big surprise to many. And I can't get 'cross-axled' doing it either!

I have to admit there is only one thing that beats me - ground clearance - but I just keep out of the ruts. :D:D

Whilst on me round the world tour of landyzone I saw it on a poster on the wall of the tratterers toilets. It’s a nasty infection which wimins get’s in a sensive part of their body.

So yer don’t need to search now. :)
