P38A had enough. .p38 diesel engine

Going up any slight motorway incline and engine won't rev above 3k to change gear ..so I'm stuck doin 50 mph
....I can flat out the pedal and revs don't move ...engine won't respond ...as soon as it's flats out ..engine goes back to normal with revs and gear changes....any ideas before I kick the p38 to death

does it rev to above 3,000 in neutral ? plugged it into diagnostics ?

Had similar recently, changed two things and one or both fixed it - if EGR fitted check the flexible pipes (both of them) to make sure they are intact. Check the fuel tank pump and be prepare to fit a new one (think Whammers edited a how to test piece on here)

I had the same, changed the fuel and air filter cured it. Fingers crossed

It's autobox revs freely on level road
..revs freely on motorway...hit a bit of hill at 50 mph on motorway ...and revs won't go up with pedal to the floor...non egr model...I can rev til red in neutral and all other driving circumstances just not motorway inclines....from dead stop I can up hill and it's fine until it's 45_50

Check the MAP sensor and pressure pipe to it.

Well either you have serious fuel starvation or the MAP sensor is knackered. Stick it on diag see what is recorded.
