gurgling noise behind dash

It's the sound of money being chewed and swallowed!
Have a look and see if you are getting soap suds in your oil, or a smell of fuel in your water!
Then check around your core plugs to see if there are any traces of running water.
Keep everything as simple as possible, without stripping the lump unless you have to!

You say it's 'behind the dash'. Does that mean in the engine bit or underneath you in the gearbox bit?

What is your engine oil pressure like? Do you have a noisy oil pump?

Have you checked your gearbox oil levels?

Are your fan and PS belts properly tensioned?

behind the dash not underneath, from other forum descriptions it sounds like air in the heater matrix, where or how it is getting in is the mystery
