hi i am new to the forum but have a problem with a recently purchased Disco 2 TD5 (2000) 200,000mls. After the garage replaced the rad as no heat was coming out coolant has been leaking overnight (dont know from where, seams to be on drivers side ) and a gurgling noise has started behind the dash when accelerating in low gears, the engine is not overheating Any ideas of what the problem may be.

Garage next to my work has just had this with a TD5....turns out it was the head gasket...owner got shut......

Don't tease the newb drewster, it's the rotary bisupial valve shut down system that's making the noise, no known cure yet but research may help in time.

Will be HG, it's allowing air into the coolant system and that's getting trapped in the heater matrix, that's what I think anyway...

After extensive research (I put gurgling engine noise into google)
I have concluded that either you have air in the coolant or you left your steam hair straighteners plugged in.
I have no idea at all how to fix the first but the second is easily solved by unplugging them and removing them from the engine compartment.

Alright, the **** taking stops right here, your garage is taking the **** big time, get your vehicle to someone who know's what they are talking about before you get your leg lifted big time, honest.

td5 heads are hardened skimming takes this away.When pressure testing the head need to be heated to working temp as the only true way to find cracks. this is curiosity of the grease monkey "ratty"

Well if the rad has just been replaced and its leaking a little coolant, then it's quite possibly taking air in through where its leaking.
Why has head gasket failure been diagnosed? I would cure the leak, get rid of air from system and see how it goes from there. Simple things first.

Hmm, we'll I don't know what you've spent on it but I suspect it might be cheaper to fix rather than bin?? Question....do you fully trust your garage? If not then start by taking it elsewhere and get a trusted opinion on it.
