Gurrrrd Evening,

I've just won a local Disco 200TDi engine on ebay that I went to see the other day. It's a bit of a minter. Hopefully I will be picking it up on Saturday morning and then I've got the fun job of fitting the bugger! I reckon I should be able to get my 12J out and the TDi in within a day (with help of engine crane and local specialists to help me rock it in). Then it'll be a matter of spending another couple of days connecting all the plumbing and pipework up. Am I being too optimistic?

I can't wait!
There will also be a very good 12J up for grabs. I rebuilt it a few thousand miles ago with new bearings, new piston crowns (complete with rings) into deglazed bores. It's also had a new timing belt and regular tweaks incl injection pump timing to get it running as best as it possibly can. Any takers!?

4 hours!

Thats £5 you can shove up your bum! I'll stick it on ebay and the for sale section. I'm after about £90. A TD went for £135 yesterday.

Just remember to tighten the fly wheel back up :D

will the starter turn a 19j?

Do I need to change my fly wheel or not? I was just going to drop the whole engine straight in with existing clutch and all. I'm not messing with it swapping oil seals etc if they're not leaking. This is an economical engine swap!

My N/A starter will turn your TD yeah. A TD is lower compression

Tis a straight swap onto an Lt77 box

As far as I know its coming from an LT77 to my LT77. Its currently in an old rangerover, but it was swapped into that from a Disco I expect. The biggest hold back for me will be the down pipe and the pipe work. I will buy a down pipe once I get the existing one off. I'm just going to use old exhaust and rubber pipes for my intercooler pipes

I'd change the back oil seal while its out as its peanuts and can save you a load of hassle later. Also change the clutch while its out, again saves you worrying about it going after 20 minutes.
