If you are going on car computer I change my guess to 33.1, (had that showing on mine just after had battery off couple weeks ago, its down to 30.8 now but its 26.5 brim to brim).

Some neighbours have just come back from Exeter today and said that the M5 southbound was just horrendous for the entire duration. My "steady 70mph" may be unrealistic. More like a stop-start 20mph!! That could alter things dramatically fudge lovers. (sorry, am I allowed to say that? It just doesn't sound right!)

I'm back boys!! We had a really good journey despite the usual hold ups either side of Bristol. There was a range of estimates from you all, from 0.5 mpg from Storm99 to 33.1mpg from kds. I'll take Datatek's estimate of 100+mpg with a pinch of salt (he assumed the P38 would spend most of the journey on a trailer!). The actual figure was......... 28.7mpg, which means that wil2813 is the winner with the closest guess of 27.7mpg. PM your address and a box of fudge all the way from Padstow is yours. WELL DONE

thank you.

Ha! Sorry mate. Due to the slow rate of acceloration, lugging all my holiday clobber around, you probably thought I'd still be driving and that you'd snuck in under the radar! :D:D

Seriously though, what a great car for the job. Bags of room and comfort for everyone, superb driving position anda great load bay. You couldn't really ask for any more from a 14 year old bus.

Yeah they are brilliant for long distance stuff. Best motor i have ever had for trips to Scotchland.:):)

As I mentioned, it was via the computer. I did a similar journey last year with a similar payload and achieved 25mpg. I've had a PSI Powerbox fitted sincethen and I'm sure it makes an improvement. It sems much smoother at about 2000-2500 rpm as well.
