I HAVE A FRUSTRATING NOISE COMING FROM THE MIDDLE OF MY FREELANDER,

I HAVE JUST ORDERED 2 SKF BEARINGS IN A HOPE THAT IT WILL CURE IT

HAS ANYONE A GUIDE FOR REMOVING AND REINSTALLING THE PROP???

ALSO HAS ANYONE EXPERIENCED THE PROBLEM WITH THE BEARINGS ANY DIOGNOSTIC TIPS???

I HAVE ONLY OWNED THE CAR A FEW WEEKS AND PREVIOUS OWNER TOLD ME THE REAR PROP HAD JUST BEEN REPLACED WITH A SECOND HAND UNIT:doh:

ALSO IS THE CAR SAFE TO DRIVE AT THE MOMENT AS IS????

THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR ANY HELP

If you need a guide in how to remove the prop shaft you ain't gonna be changing the bearings mate.

and you don't have to SHOUT WE AIN'T DEAF

what im after is where the prop should be supported and marked while being removed
undo the nuts on either end leave the bolts in place. Then undo the bolts holding the support bearings.Rest the vcu on yer chest ,the rear prop on yer toes and carefully pull out the front prop, take care not to stretch the gaiter.Carefully roll the whole lot off yerself....The other link probly tells you how to remove the bearings....piece o' ****.

edit:while your at it or before you start have a look at the condition of the rubber on the vcu damper.
