Grey Smoke

Hi Everyone,

I could do with some advice please.

My Rangy seems to be blowing some excessive smoke when I accelerate but only then. Normal tickover fine, driving normally seems fine, but pulling away at junctions roundabouts etc then it does seem to throw out quite a bit of smoke. Greyish colour. I think its a bit more when cold but when upto temp only on acceleration.

No overheat and temp seems fine, it does need topping up with water probably about 1/2 litre after quite a bit of a run.

I did recently change the radiator for a new one, if that makes any difference, my wife tells me the smell is a bit sooty (my sense of smell is crap!!)

Any advice would be much appreciated

it sounds like your torbo. do you get smoke when you come off the gas? j

Hi J many thanks for your reply, sorry my fault I didn't add its a 4.6 HSE petrol.

punch the wife in the nose then she wont smell it either! sounds like stem seal
