I'm sure that if Afzal Khan came on here you'd club him to death before he got to 10 posts, but the reality of it is that the market is all heading that way.

Depends on how you play it.
That is out of order about the PM, I doubt if it was any of the 10k plus brigade did that.
Maybe try reading around a bit, and using tact? The forum clearly contains a lot of inmates who are keen on old vehicles, so maybe popping up and trying to sell something that radically alters classic landrovers is silly?
There is also the aspect of trying to advertise in your first few posts. Longstanding tradition on LZ is that spammers are cast into the pit. And the forum owners have spent time and money to build the forum, and get upset if people advertise for free.
If you want to advertise straight away, you can pay, and become a forum sponsor. If not, hang around, get a feel of the forum, and then subtly mention your product in the right places.

Might be more to do with your operating system and browsers than the site.
I have a laptop running Linux, and use Google Chrome, don't even have adblocker. Very little spam, odd ad on the homepage for Russian Milfs, but I quite like those!
Adblocker would deal if I didn't.

Blimey, if it was a case of building stuff that purists hate, then a lot of the vehicles owned by members on here would fall into the same category. It is not like you are modifying a 1948 series one. Anyone that gets upset because of a change on a mid 80s onwards vehicle ,( unless of course it is a ruched leather and red velvet interior, in which case a posse should be formed......and the owner strung up.....
..) What you have done, although it may not be to the taste of all is something you wanted , fair play for doing it. Regarding the PM, there are some sad people who think that this sort of thing is funny. While there is a place in AG for some personal "banter" My feeling is sending PM's like that is a bit of a cowards way of doing it.
Still prefer my TD5 dash tho.........................
