Hi all, i have just got a Defender 90 for my 30th Birthday..

It's a C plate 1985 200TDi i think, check out some of my pics on

Does anyone actualy know what model it is???

Will post on another thread with some questions i have on how things work etc...!!!
 
Hi and welcome to the Loony Zone you'll need a GSOH and thick skin on here as we take the **** alot. Your 200tdi defender is in fact a 90 (defenders weren't made till 1990) and it has a 2.5NA (Naturally Aspirated) engine not a TDi.

Looks very nice though.
 
Cool thanks for replying!!! I love it! need to figure out the snorkel as it was partually fitted but needs the hoses connecting (which i have in the back)...

Shouldn't there be a plastic plate to fit at the bottom of the snorkle which wraps down the side???? See the link below...

No. NA snorkles usually go thru the heater intake vent on top of the wing and a series vent is fitted to the wing to accommodate the heater hose. Someone has modded that snorklel to remove the need to do that. I must say it's a very neat solution. Not having seen what else they've done I'm assuming you'll need to remove the wheel arch liner and fit a length of flexible hose to the snorkel, and feed it between the inner & outer wings. Then drill thru the inner wing to meet up with the airfilter housing.

No probs good luck. to set up signature click "user CP" it's all in there then. Ya landy is a 1985 90 2.5NA.
 
Crickey, that's my old one. It was me your wife got it from.

I put the snorkel on, well half on, so let me know if you need to know anything about how to finish it off.

And by the way, he's called Hector ;)

Hi Big Red!!! I love this defender!!! I managed to route the hose for the snorkle, behind the heater and up to the air intake - got it all siliconned and rivited on!!! What can you tell me about this vehicle, any pics of it in action etc...!!! I have orderd an a-bar and some spots so will get this fitted later this week, also had the range rover wheels primered and sprayed black along with the front bumper - will post some updated pics soon!!! Having some difficulty in getting some help installing some work lights as per another thread!!!

I did have an Abar on him in the past, as you'll see in the pics.
We'd only had him since last year, in that time we've been laning once, and to an offroad centre once. Although we've never done anything extreme, hence why the snorkel wasn't connected, it was only for show!!
We bought him from an elderly chap who had him for the last 5 years, he'd done any jobs that had come up straight away. He was gutted to sell him, but he could barely walk anymore and was struggling to be able to get in.

A couple of photos under the bonnet would have helped to advise on the snorkle.
 
On the off chance somone may know off their head:

I've been after the heater to front nearside (Series 3 intake) pipeing anyone know the part numbers? I got the wing vent but cant seem to find the tight 90 degree bend to get along the inside of the wing to heater intake. Jai
