I've eventually figured out that there aren't really any merits to lifting a 90 2" when using it for green laning.

I have some original height springs to go back on, but does anyone know if I can retain the +2" shocks. Obviously they travel 2"s longer, but is the minimum length compromised?

also looking for a new roof.....:D

what lift kit do you have?
if you want to get rid of it let me know....

i don't imagine you'll want it JP.

Britpart Yellow Springs with Cellular Dynamic Shox.

Spud what do you want for the lift Kit?

Well I have some new TD5 front springs and have just been out bid on the rears that I thought were mine.

I really need enough to buy 2 new standard rear springs and a decent set of shocks.

That's if the shocks I have are no good cos they're too long.

The kit cost me 230 and has done less than 2000 miles.

Interested to know why you say a 2" lift is no use Spud?
Is it because they were br1t-sh1t-parts or something else?

Well just cos i only do green laning and not any extreme off road stuff.

The standard 90 articulation is more that fine for this as green lanes are "roads" after all.

The only advantage i can see is you are 2 inches higher when wading.

The disadvantages are:

Low overhanging trees damage your roof (looking for a new one).
Less stability (more body roll).
Transmission vibration.
Probable extra strain on prop uj's.
harder to get in and out (even spud has had a couple of "crashes" jumping into the back).

maybe due to "you get what you pay for"

the +2" shocks will give you better articulation, so you can leave them on but you may need extended bump stops and dislocation cones. same as putting -2" shock mounts on.

What type of roof you after I have a full hard top roof spare in bristol .

I also have a big pile of springs from discos if there any use i know some people have fitted them.

I also have a 90 with a 2" lift kit. Blue springs and pro comp gas shocks.
Looks good but a complete pain in the arse, new uj,s and drive train noise.
Would be good to change back to standard height but is this an easy diy job to do?

Yes.
Just jack it up and watch them fall out :) well nearly, you have to unbolt the spring retaining bolts/clamp.
You may need some spring clamps if your springs are still quite feisty.

ok thanks for the info - i'll keep my shox (i have some cones).

i never did understand the need for extended bump stops, surely they would restrict articulation?

i'll look into whether any disco springs are ok for the 90 rear.

a full 90 hard top is just what i need :) what colour is it, what condition & how much would you like?
