Good Evening all!
I'm new to Land Rover ownership, I've had models before but never the real thing! When my wife left I decided now was a good time and I'm now the happy owner of a very yellow 88" series III! I've surfed this forum for answers to any queries I have but decided I'd best join in!
I'm a charge nurse in Boston, Lincolnshire and have 2 little Landy Fans (aged 9 and 6!)
The Landy is on a galvanised chassis but I've no idea who made it, any ideas how I would be able to tell? It was likely fitted about 10yrs ago I think. I'm also fitting inertia reel seatbelts and wonder if the front seats are supposed to tilt forwards. Also any ideas how the middle seat is mounted, it seems to be rather insecure! I have a haynes manual in the post somewhere!
She's only done about 78K and seems mechanically sound, the yellow shade wasn't my choice but was at a price I could afford! I'm surprised how many ex land rover owners there are about who come to chat and have a peek!
I hope to be at the Newark Show on Saturday so might get some answers then!
Thanks for letting me join our gang!

Hi

Ijust bought my first Landy on Thursday, a Discovery 300 tdi. You are ahead of me,I'm trying to post a question but I'm clearly too thick to work out how.

Reading the content, I'm depreessed. Is this why the company is all but bust?

What have I bought.

Mike

Hello Michael,
There is good news with the bad... Loads of people who are happy to advise and land parts, even disco parts are really not expensive!
I have several friends how run 300tdi Discos, one has a complete workshop in the back but it stands the punishment well!
Don't give up it's a new adventure!
Cheers
Charles
