Does anyone know what the lowest CCA a 200tdi requires to start?

At the mo iv got a battery with a CCA of 540. As it was a 3.5 V8 before.

You may be thinking 'why dont i just try the one iv got and see if it works?'

Cos it was flat when i put me engine in and only just took it out to charge it!

Im going to get the biggest one thatl fit in me batt compartment, but until payday il just have to make doo!

I was going to say, you'll soon find out! Check the fluid levels too. I topped mine up a few weeks back and it's made a huge difference to cold starting performance.

Yeah mate i remembered what you said in your post RE. battery maintaince a bit back!

Our lass got me some distilled water from work and iv given it a drink! Didnt need much tho!

my battery died on me last year so I pinched the one out of my son's renault 5 (tiny. like a mini battery) and it started my 200 Tdi 90 every day for two weeks until I bought my present one ( and this was in february )

If you need to replace I found a place in Rochdale with an Ebay and a real shop who who fitted it, got shut of the old one and it has a 3yr warranty for £79. This has a 750 CCA (Cold craking whatsit)
LUCAS 12V 663/664 HEAVY DUTY LORRY/TRUCK BATTERY on eBay. (sorry no link)
The 664 replaced my very old 663 that was already in my 90 300tdi. Fitted like a glove. I got it fitted in December and it didn't flinch at starting in -12c temps so I am happy with the price, product and service. Worth considering.

Cheers for the info guys! Thats intresting with the renault 5 battery! Well i tried the one iv got (540 cca) today after charging it up last night and started it up fine!

I recon il just run the one iv got until it dies then go for an uprated one when i come to need another one.

At least i can jump the engine off me winch battery if i ever get stuck!!

Cheers guys!

FFS why buy distilled water, just boil the kettle, let it cool down and you've got distilled water.

I never said i bought the water, that would be daft!

I actualy said our lass brought me some home from work (proper distilled water)

Sorry Big P, shifty is right, well nearly. What you actually get in the kettle after its boiled is concentrated tap water, all the steam coming out is pure water. any crap in the water is still in t' kettle, but with less water with it.
