on my 200tdi engine do i need a glow plug relay:confused: as i just put the wire straight on to glow plug no 4 as it was on my 19j been looking through some conversion guides but its not to clear
cheers joe

When ah furst got me bus, the wires from the relay weren't connected to glow plugs and it started furst time every time. Don't think they matter too much on the 200's unless ye're in extreme temps;)

Best to have the relay and in my experience of starting my 90 in last winter's really cold temperatures, it's best to have decent quality glow plugs, not the cheapo ebay specials but a decent set of Bosch or NGK ones (still a lot cheaper than genuine LR ones). I found my 90 ran lumpy and smoked a bit when cold on the cheap ones and always starts better on the decent ones.

You don't need to do anything special, it'll work fine just coming straight off the wire. As Buster says though, you rarely need them with a Tdi, only on the coldest of mornings have I given it 10 seconds on them just for pity's sake :D
