Nah, drive to Hammersmith, park in the King's Mall car park all day
for under £4 and catch the tube from Hammersmith Tube across the
road. I'll be doing that today, thankfully for only the second time
in 6 months.

No - western edge of the C is Park Lane (currently).

Surely not? It barely gets you to London.

That was the best Episode of "The Prisoner" IMO - even though they
changed the title before broadcast, to Checkmate.

The lengths Patrick McGoohan went to whilst writing bits of sillycode
into it were incredible. 't reminds me, must try to catch up with old
Six-of-One comrades at some point, now we have the titnernet an all...

Martyn,

We are planning an en-masse visit this summer....shall I keep you informed?

"we" is mud-club. Still in the planning stage, but it will involve numbered
t-shirts ;-)

Old enough.....? I'll take that as a compliment :)

Who is Number 1?

No, King's Mall is about 4 miles outside the congestion zone, and
Hammersmith Tube is about 3 mins walk down the road. I was there
today, parking costs are up now, but still cheap by London standards,
£2 for about 3 hours or so.

*You* are, number 6, as they said at the beginning of every episode..

For the record, "A, B and C" is the best episode ;-)

Why did he resign?

Sad to admit, but when I got this new phone, the one that Nige will no
doubt end up buying in the fullness of time, I found I could put mp3
files on for the ringtone - better, add different ringtones for
different callers...

The office, when calling me, plays the theme from The Prisoner.
Most 101 / landie type peeps plays the theme from H2G2
Charlotte get REMs It's the end of the world as we know it...

What, you mean mix The Prisoner with Dads Army? May not be wrong
there. Don't Panic (oh, that was H2G2... too...)

Mine used to have the attention tone used before all loud-hailer
announcements for the ringtone, and No. 6's phone ring sound for SMS
messages. One particularly spoddy girl I used to work with recognised
the SMS tone from across the office! She got sacked in the end for
spending too much time playing Nethack.
