I know the feelin, the 90 you see in my profile pic has been going through a restoration for the past 5 months.

OK a little more to report!!
Fuel tanks. Both had little holes on the front face.


I use some of that great plastic steel epoxy stuff and now they are as good as new (I hope it works!)

pity the holes were not a little more rounded, you could have said they were bullet holes, well apart from the fact the tank might not be there if they were

Things coming along nicely now.
Stripped and cleaned all the steering gear.

What sort of grease do you put in your track rod ends?

any std automotive grease will do

Stripped the front hubs.

Cleaned off the axle (had a look inside but there seemed to be no damage, no metal in the oil so shut it up quick!).


Started to refit the front springs and axle.




Got frustrated when the shocks seemed too short but JamesMartin was as helpful as ever when he pointed out that I needed some weight on the chassis!

red n tacky is an excellent grease especially for parts that get wet

Slight crisis of confidence before adding oil. I assume that I fill from these points until it reaches the point when it starts coming out?

Two shell cases in the bulkhead so not too far off! Sorry, random comment!

Feels so good putting bits back on rather than always taking bits off!

Looking great! Coming together nicely. Is that steering lever the right way though? Trying to work out the orientation of things.

Not 100% myself yet! I'll need to take it all off again to get the gaiter and fixings on so I can adjust as required. I just got excited after getting all the rust off and making it look like it should!

OK I've looked at it from every which way but can't make my drums fit. What am I doing wrong?

are adjusters wound back fully , the correct drums, shoe posts also need to be in alignment with center of adjuster
