OK a little more to report!!
Fuel tanks. Both had little holes on the front face.


I use some of that great plastic steel epoxy stuff and now they are as good as new (I hope it works!)

 
Things coming along nicely now.
Stripped and cleaned all the steering gear.

What sort of grease do you put in your track rod ends?
 
Cleaned off the axle (had a look inside but there seemed to be no damage, no metal in the oil so shut it up quick!).


Started to refit the front springs and axle.




Got frustrated when the shocks seemed too short but JamesMartin was as helpful as ever when he pointed out that I needed some weight on the chassis!
 
Looking great! Coming together nicely. Is that steering lever the right way though? Trying to work out the orientation of things.
Not 100% myself yet! I'll need to take it all off again to get the gaiter and fixings on so I can adjust as required. I just got excited after getting all the rust off and making it look like it should!
 
are adjusters wound back fully , the correct drums, shoe posts also need to be in alignment with center of adjuster
