.....Well....?????????
sounds like you have been having some great fun!
Talking of familiar with the GEMS engine ...
I found a rogue ball-bearing in a timing cover from a GEMS engine, probably about 3 - 4 mm in diameter. Any idea where the chuff that might have come from? I'm hoping it was cross-contamination from something else.
But just think, you are now more familiar with your Rangie than you were on Friday!
I cannot think where that bearing came from but it was there. It came from somewhere! I don't like having parts left over.
Unfortunately I broke the replacement gasket on the 4.0 pulling the FTC back a bit to wriggle the woodruff key in. Kicking myself. Have to wait for another to arrive now. Then there's just the airbags, the door locks, the RF receiver and the roof lining to make it useable.
No worries, best of luck with it!You'll have to excuse my brother Ant!
He's decided the 4.0 is worth spending some money (and time) on to use as a runabout, or an off-roader. I think it's more trouble than it's worth, but he can be very headstrong.
I was thinking Dumball Rally!
Thanks for the offer, Saint. Don't think I'll be doing that much to it so best return to Island 4x4 ASAP. Hoping a little effort will be enough to fix it without too much investment. Up to MrGorsky really but it seems a real shame to see her scrapped if a little effort will keep her running another 10 years.
No probs,
Yep, she runs well and pulls strong! Just the oil pressure issue, maybe a bit of tinkering now she isn't a daily drive, and you may be onto a winner, if not, just keep the revs up while standing still and you'll never know![]()
