I have seen some mixed results on what land rover recommend.
Also read that all auto box oils are dexron3 and most are just over priced names that you are paying. On saying that I wouldn't go out and buy the cheapest oil I can find

You use what you like, The correct fluid is Texaco Texamatic ETL-7045E.

Keep in mind the valve block in these boxes are made of camembert and they are prone to failure around the 80K mile mark.

Do not stray from the fluid specified on these boxes under any circumstances....

Other fluids have been known to accelerate clutch friction plate material wear due to different compounds in the fluid...

Use only what Is specified....and yes even if it seems overpriced....

Going to give my 02 plate L322 TD6 GM auto box an oil change.
Looking for recommendations on oil to put into it please.

Dunc

You don't need to, there's a sticker on the bottom of the gearbox sump that say's it's "sealed for life..................."

:p

That is the correct oil for the TD6 gearbox.

In fact it's the cheapest place to buy it. That's where I get mine from.

Get the 20l drum, works out cheaper and then you can do a couple of flushes :)

Hi,

Please can you come back with how you did it and how you got on changing filter too and getting it at the right temp when topping up, etc?

I'm thinking of changing mine too so I'd appreciate any help?

Thanks
