gearbox oil smell

is it usual to be able to smell the gearbox oil when youve been driving for about 20 mins doing a steady 65 on the motorway? its not a strong smell but its there :confused:

I can always smell it, even if I just walk past my land when it's parked on the drive. It's a heavenly scent!
 
So not unusual then? One less thing to worry about lol gonna have a crawl round under it tomorrow to sort some issues out lol
 
As long as it isn't loosing any then - not a problem - if it smells like gearoil because it's pouring out somewhere... problem, and only if it's loosing enough to mean a monthly refill.

Not unusual to smell oil but very unusual to be doing 65...cant remember the last time i went past 60!

Me or coa??

After being under the landy this morning I have a slight leak from the transfer box n a bloody leak from my power steering pump oh n looks like a leak on my clutch cos the fluid was non existent caught it just in time!!!

Transfer box leak may just be blocked breathers.
