Afternoon everyone

I was wondering if any other freelander 2 owners have experienced this issue?

I have a 2011 SD4 HSE Auto and have been having what I can only describe as hesitation from the the gearbox when it mainly goes from 1sr to second on the pull away… It has always hunted a little around 30mph but I’m sure that’s because around that speed it’s a little between gears.

But this hesitancy has only recently appeared.

Has anyone else had this and can point me in the right direction to diagnose / fix it?

Cheers

No I’ve not touched the gearbox oil.. Had the Haldex serviced along with rear diff and front transfer unit oil change done by LR specialist last year. Advised by the garage not to touch the gearbox oil unless it plays up because messing with them can cause issues…. Car has only done 44k

Blimey - that’s low mileage!
It’s now 14 years old; I’d certainly expect it to need a gearbox oil change, and that would be my first item to do in order to try to address a general ‘gearbox’ issue, unless you have a code reader and a specific fault code?

It's 4 years overdue a gearbox fluid change. LR specify 150k miles, or 10 years, which ever comes first. Both should be halved really, as 150k and 10 years is just ridiculous.
In my experience, not doing fluid changes on time is much worse than doing them more often than specification.
Have the fluid changed with the OE fluid, and see how it behaves.
