Freelander 2 (LR2) Future replacement?

if and when I deem my trusty, rusty, 218,000 miles high mileage 2007 Freelander to be no longer reliable enough / worth the cost of repairing / too bloody dangerous to drive, what should I replace it with? Even the newest Freelander is coming up for a decade old now, so what’s the alternative?

The Discovery Sport was the replacement, but it's not the same vehicle with more problems than the Freelander had.

Replace with a newer FL2. Plenty of well kept versions out there.
