Hi I have pesky connection problems ...... with TD4 main relay buzzing
and I want to check the connections from the harness to the fuse box.......has anybody removed a furse box.......are there a series of plugs on the underside.......can anybody give me a steer on this...........I just want to know what I am potentially letting myself in for..........is this fuse box coded........

Each time the car is exposed to really damp wet conditions it starts playing up ....... so I'm pretty convinced it is corrosion /poor connection issue. I have replaced relays and ignition switch etc.....to no avail.

I live in the Northwest (Manchester) does anybody know of a first rate mobile car electrician who has form with Freelanders............

Recall seeing a recall/technical note on the Rave about wires rubbing under the fuse box?
Have a look on the Rave at the recalls and technical notes.
May throw a bit of light and help?

just checked this out your right!!! Bulletin A/D243.........I will have a good decko and see if my truck has been secretly chafing............thanks for this .... it does state that it can cause ignition problems..........hmm would explain allot..........

Will let the forum know my findings..........oh yes my posh egr bypass pipe arrived today...in shiny stainless steel.....I'm quite excited at the prospect of fitting this ....I'm getting really sad.............

Hi .... just thought I would feed back managed to lift up fuse box after removing bolts (3) and took a peek under.......it was all full of leaves and crap......cleared that out....there appears to be about 10 plugs that click into the bottom of the fuse box.........these look like a recipy for desaster......they appear to long into place with tangs... these look a real bitch to get at....anyway I sprayed the lot with WD40.

Also noted the sharp strut washer noted in the TB ...... so I cut a thick piece of DPM and covered it making sure the harness was protected.

All this appeared to help no buzzing...... as an update I managed to win a brand new fuse box on flea bay complete with relays for £10!!!!! This arrived today in the original LR box.........delighted I will be fitting this soon......

they are prone to the contacts corroding under that fusebox, as well - so a good idea to clean and protect those contacts while you are at it.
